Hace algunos días, Discord anunció que cambiarán el sistema actual de nombre de la plataforma (el famoso #0000) para dar paso al método que todas las otras redes sociales utilizan: un arroba y tu usuario.
Según Stanislav Vishnevskiy, cofundador de la empresa, el punto de estos cambios es que “sea más fácil para ti y todos los nuevos usuarios de Discord conectarse y pasar el rato con amigos”.
“También reconocemos que nuestro formato actual de nombre de usuario ha sido una de las cosas que hace a Discord único, y que este cambio hará que nuestros nombres de usuario se vean un montón como aquellos en otras plataformas. Para ser franco, ese es el punto”, afirmó Vishnevskiy.
Ante esta decisión, son miles los que han mostrado su descontento (especialmente en Twitter), ya que lo ven más bien como un paso atrás por parte de la compañía, haciendo especial énfasis en que, de hecho, quitar algo que los hace distintos no es una buena idea.
Además, remarcan que de esta forma será más fácil encontrar a ciertas personas (como streamers), quienes pueden comenzar a recibir un aumento en el acoso a través de la plataforma.
También es posible que se abra un “mercado negro” de nombres de usuario, vendiéndolos en sitios como eBay, por ejemplo. Junto a esto, está el hecho de que ahora el que alguien se haga pasar por ti e intente realizar estafas no será muy difícil.
